UPREHS Prime Medicare Plan

Prime Medicare Plan Part D

UPREHS pays your 2011 Part D deductible amount of $310. You are required to obtain your maintenance drugs (prescriptions taken longer than 30 days) from DEPOT DRUG MAIL. You may obtain a one-time-fill or emergency prescription at our national chain of participating nonpreferred retail pharmacies.
  • Your Initial Coverage Limit is $2,840.

  • You do NOT pay the Part D deductible of $310.

  • Your copayments and drug costs at the DEPOT DRUG MAIL are much less - Our costs are much higher for your drugs from the participating nonpreferred retail pharmacies.

  • Medicare has made changes that affect all plans including ours. UPREHS has made changes to your plan so that we can balance some of the Federal changes. Just a $9 copayment now gets you a 90-day supply of any Tier 1 Generic drug from the Depot Drug Mail Pharmacy while you are in your $2,840 Initial Coverage benefit stage. There is an increase in the Tier 2 copayment. There is a reduction in Tier 4 copayments for Depot Drug Walk-in pharmacies. No Part D drug has been removed unless Medicare removed it. You will receive a new Formulary Book with this mailing.

  • After your total yearly drug costs reach $2,840, you receive a 7% discount on our cost of a Generic Drug when you are in the Coverage Gap Out-of-Pocket benefit stage until your yearly out-of-pocket drug costs reach $4,550. The discount is given at the time you fill your prescription.

  • Brand Name drug Manufacturers are extending a 50% discount on the cost of most Part D drugs when you are in the Coverage Gap Out-of-Pocket benefit stage. This discount is given at the time you fill your prescription.

UPREHS Healthcare Prepayment Plan/Medicare Secondary
UPREHS is authorized to pay your Original Medicare Part B claims to participating providers for office visits and office services, consultations, hospital visits, and surgical procedures.  When UPREHS HCPP receives a participating physician’s claim for your services, payments for Original Medicare Part B benefits and your UPREHS Medicare Secondary Plan benefits are made in one check directly to the physician, which eliminates billing Railroad Medicare and You.

UPREHS Medicare members are still receiving Original Medicare Part A and B benefits.  UPREHS HCPP members continue to get their Medicare benefits through Original Medicare Part A and B whether or not the provider is participating with UPREHS.  UPREHS HCPP does not change Original Medicare Part B benefits; congressional law creates and defines those benefits.  The UPREHS Board of Trustees determines only the premium amounts and the benefits that are paid secondary to Original Medicare under the UPREHS Medicare Secondary Plan.
